Well it SEEMED to be the RAM. A day later, the monitor went crazy again and then finally went white. I’m not going to speculate anymore. I have an appointment with a Mac “Genius” tomorrow. I really hate that name. I remember when it was cool to own a Mac and not a PC, but the people at Apple have become so fucking smug. I’ll get this thing fixed, but I won’t buy another Mac laptop. Unfortunately, I’ll probably still get a Mac tower because it would take me forever, and cost a fortune, to replace all my software.

Update—the issue turned up again, and turned out to be some bad sticks of Kingston RAM I purchased off Amazon. Put the original sticks back in and voila! The second episode was worse, I couldn’t even get her to start up in safe mode without the screen being jacked. Not sure if I can return the RAM.

Great comment! Thanks. You’re right about the ergonomics. It can certainly be a pain going between a controller keyboard, your laptop, and a mouse & computer keyboard. I sure wish they’d drop the price of some hardware though to match up with the times.
